Services for John J. Provost, 79, of 737 Broadway St., will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Washington C. H., with the Rev. David Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery.
Mr. Provost died at 10:50 p.m. Saturday in the Fayette County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two days. He had been seriously ill for the past six months.
He was born in Washington, Pa., and moved to Washington C. H. in 1935 from Pike County, Ohio. He was a woodworker for the former Coffman and Colonial Stair Co., having retired in 1972.
Surviving is his wife, the former Pearl A. Shaw; two sons, Robert E. Provost, 710 Warren Ave., and Joseph F. Provost, Rising Sun, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Irene (Robert) Stauffer, 957 Ohio 41-SE, and Mrs. Carol (John) Dunn, 267 Carolyn Road; eight grandchildren, Michael and Melinda Provost, Vikki Strunk, Ricki, Pam and Steven Provost, and Amy and Kristi Dunn, and two great-grandchildren.
