Stephen and Mary (Hussey) Hunts were married and lived near Friendship, N. Carolina. Stephen seemed to feel the Quaker Faith was too strict and at one time was dismissed from the church (p. 551 Hinshaw's Quaker Records 6-27-1829) but later returned and was re-instated. He bacame a successful farmer owning 600 acres of land. He ran a Conestoga wagon freight to Charlotte, No. Carolina, bringing supplies to his settlements. He was a good carpenter and built good buildings, of home-hewn timbers and hand-made shingles.
