Notes for James (Spouse 1)

Text: (15 lines follow)
I am a descendant of Captain James Avery of Groton, CT and am trying to flesh out my knowledge of the families of the wives who married into my Avery line. On of them is as follows:
"William Avery, Jr., born 1751. William, Jr. was a hatter in Sharon, CT,
and lived in Ellsworth, on the Perkins place. He married, in Sharon, 1772,
Lucy Everett, birth unknown, a sister of Isiah Everett, daughter of Ebenezer
Everett and Lucy Moulton. In the latter part of the century, they removed
to Duanesburg, NY, where William died."

This information is can be found in the major Avery genealogies, especially
Sweet's, etc. Does anyone know anything of the ancestry Ebenezer Everett
and Lucy Moulton?

William Avery III, born 1774, died in Parish, Oswego County, NY, February
13, 1849, a descendant of Captain James Avery of Groton, CT; married about
1800, in Duanesburg, NY, Jemima Ford, birth unknown, died in Mexico, Oswego County, NY.

Does anyone know anything about William's wife Jemima Ford? they are listed in Sweet's "Groton Avery Clan"

Samuel Merwin Avery, born March 14, 1819, died September 8, 1904; married May 13, 1852, place unknown, Mary Jane Becker, daughter of John Becker and Janet (Jane) Broughton (Boughton).
Samuel Merwin Avery is a descendant of Captain James Avery of Groton, CT.

He and his wife are my great-great-great-grandparents and I have their
family bible and pictures. I am trying to learn more about Mary Jane
Becker's family, the Beckers and Broughtons. Can anyone help? Thanks!!

While perusing newly added books at genealogylibary.com I cam across the book, 'Our Family
Genealogy Morgan-Avery' by
Nathaniel H. Morgan.

In this book on page 5 it has the following:

AVERY GENEALOGY.

1. CAPT. JAMES AVERY came from Devonshire, England, to Massachusetts, with Governor
Winthrop's company, in 1630, thence
to New London or "Pequoit," (now Groton,) with the first settlers, about 1647. His name
appears among the members
of the "General Court at Hartford" as a "Deputy from N. London plantations" as early as
May Session, 1659, and for
several years afterwards. He married Sarah, daughter of Thomas Minor, of (now)
Stonington. Both were distinguished
families in the "Pequoit" country, and have ever been regarded as the leading names among
the early settlers
of the towns of Groton and Stonington. The children of James and Sarah, were:

2. Hannah, born Oct. 11, 1644.
3. James, Jr., born Dec. 15, 1646.
4. Mary, born Feb. 19, 1648.
5. Thomas, born May 6, 1651.
6. John, born Feb. 10, 1653.
7. Rebecca, born Oct. 5, 1656.
8. Jonathan, born Jan. 5, 1658.
9. Christopher, born April 3, 1661.
10. Samuel, born Aug. 14, 1664.

I have Joanna GREENSLADE as his wife and the mother of these children. Does anyone have
any thoughts on this?

Thanks, Cherryl}
