◦ He was a graduate of Concord High School. He earned a B.A. in psychology and sociology from Tufts University, a Bachelor's and Master's of Sacred Theology from Boston University, and an Ed.D. from the University of MA.

◦ He served churches in Holyoke and Essex, Mass., and was also an interim minister in Farmington. He was assistant to the dean at the Whittemore School of Business at the University of NH, where he taught courses in organizational behavior. For the last 35 years, he worked as an organizational consultant.

◦ The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where he is buried said "Winthrop Puffer was interred in that lot October 3, 2006 though does not have a stone. The `P' markers out by the road are corner markers showing the corners only of this lot. According to our records he was interred behind Esther."

Life Legacy
Stephen Dresser Puffer is predeceased by his wife, Janet (McCarthy) Puffer and his son, Matthew S. Puffer. He leaves behind three sons, Michael Puffer of East Hartford, CT; Kevin Puffer of Methuen; and Brian Puffer of Gloucester. He leaves four daughters, Patricia Andraka of North Kingstown, RI; Christine Zapata of Arlington, VA, Catherine Puffer of Chandler, AZ; and Jeanne Puffer of Andover, along with many beloved grandchildren.
Puffer retired after a career managing cargo for Lufthansa Airlines. He loved his family, golf and, lately, driving around the country.
Puffer was a member of the Palestine Lodge of Masons in Everett, MA. He organized and ran the Matthew S. Puffer Memorial Golf Tournament - benefiting families at Boston Children's Hospital - from 2000 to 2003.
Family and friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the Merton E. Roberts Jr and Conte Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown, MA 01833. A funeral service will be on Saturday 11:00 AM at the First Church Congregational in East Boxford.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814 or to the Hospice of the Northshore, 75 Sylvan St. Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923
