Denise M. Bentz, 87, of North Charleroi, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born May 20, 1926, in Charleroi, daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Ballard Theys. Denise was a member of First Christian Church in Charleroi and the Amicus Class. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rendos, of Baden; son, Comer Bentz III, of North Charleroi; two sisters, Diane Kleiner, of Wyomissing, and Susan Carr, of Philadelphia; one brother, Tom Dunker; three grandchildren, Karen Bittinger and husband, Joe, John Rendos and David Rendos; two great-granddaughters, Emily Bittinger and Skye-Marie Rendos; nieces; nephews; and cousins. In addition to her parents, Denise was preceded in death by her husband, Comer Bentz Jr.; stepmother, Susan Theys; son-in-law, John Rendos; and a brother, Don Dunker. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Schrock-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Charles Cochran officiating. Interment will follow in Charleroi Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in memory of Denise Bentz to First Christian Church, Walnut Ridge Road, Charleroi, PA 15022.
