Notes for Avonel Kordell
She was older than Aunt Bunny and she remembers get hand me down clothes from Avonel
Hi all,
I received a memorial from Avonel's death from her son Earl. He lives in Centerburg, OH.
She was our mothers' cousin, lived in the Columbus area, she was born April 19, 1915, died February 12, 2007. and was buried Feb. 17, at Forest Lawn Mausoleum, in or near Columbus. My mother always talked about her visits to the farm with her mom to see them. She used to get hand me down clothes from Avonel, and I'm sure they all wore them. It wasn't clear from the info he sent about how she died. There was no note, or other info. I will write him and try to find out more. I know she called my mom after she had moved into Hilltop and was bragging about still living in her own home. I do not know if she was ill or not. Had the impression she wasn't. I have some old notes somewhere that my mother had kept from her, she used to hear from her annually. I'll see what other info I can pull up.
She was Aunt Louise's daughter from her marriage to John Kordell, Aunt Louise was also married to a Ray Shaffer, but she had no children with him.
That's probably more than you wanted to know. Aunt Louise was our grandmother's sister so she was a Provost, or Pruvost as they were known in France.
Love,
Camille
