Bill,
Actually, the Carlton line is only an allied one to my husband's Ritterbush
line in Merrimack,
Hills.co, NH. I have a copy of the Hist of Merrimack, and
the Carlton family shown starts with Timothy, b. 1753, d. there 1834. None of
the names shown correspond with yours, but, no doubt there is a connection
further back. Timothy's wife came from Andover, Essex, MA, and this is
where the Ritterbush line came from just before NH, so that may be a clue for
you. But, we have nothing in Mt Vernon.
Incidentally, my own ancestry includes the CALL line from Thos(1), to John, to
Mehitable, who m. John Rand.
Good luck in your search, Julia Walker Ritterbush
(Wm.(1) Walker 1690, IRE to Worcester, MA, d.1760)}
