Rose Liberata Mancini, 98, of Sebastian, Fla., formerly of Elrama, Canonsburg and Washington, D.C., died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, in Pelican Gardens Assisted Living Facility, Sebastian, Fla. Born May 2, 1915, in Shire Oaks, she was a daughter of Antonio and Nunziata Sebastiana Mancini. Rose first went to school in Shire Oaks, walked to Coal Bluff to attend school and also attended Elrama School, Clairton High School and Duffs Business School in Pittsburgh. In 1942, Rose went to Washington, D.C. to work for the U.S. Army Foreign Science and Technology Center, retiring after 32 years of employment. Upon retirement, she resided in Palm Coast, Fla., and then moved back to Pennsylvania. Rose loved to travel and had been all over the world, except to Alaska and Australia. She loved to read, go out to eat, keep house, plant flowers, visit and have people visit with her.
Rose was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vincenzio "Jim" Mancini; and four sisters, Mary Layton, Virginia Mancini, Concetta Centafonti and Antoinette "Toni" Neidermeyer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where funeral prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, Transfiguration Church, with the Rev. William Terza, pastor, as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.

Rose Liberata Mancini, 98, of Sebastian, Fla., formerly of Elrama, Canonsburg and Washington, D.C., died Thursday, December 5, 2013, in Pelican Gardens Assisted Living Facility, Sebastian.
