Burton Robert Poor, 81, of Kunkletown, died Friday, May 21, at his home. He was the loving husband of Imgard Nora (Peters) Poor. They had been married 27 years.
Born in Hillside, N.J., on Dec. 14, 1922, he was the son of the late Arthur Louis and Ethel Mae (Parkhurst) Poor.
For the past nine years, he was employed at the Office of the Tourist Information Center, Route 80, New Jersey. Prior to that, he worked as a purchasing agent/building maintenance for B. Blumenthal in Moonachie, N.J., for more than 20 years. He had also worked in research and development for Wright Metal Coaters in Hackensack, N.J., for 22 years.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Navy League of the United States, located in Arlington, Va. He was a plank owner of the USS Massachusetts BB 59.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three daughters, Nora Lynne Grega and her husband Steve of London, Ontario, Canada; Joanne Linda Signorello and her husband Steven of Brodheadsville, PA and Deborah Ann Parchment of Willingboro, N.J.; and five grandchildren, Nicholas, Steven, Scott, Jay and Erica.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, at Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert. The Rev. Dave Felker will officiate. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Indiantown Gap National Veterans Cemetery, Annville.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of the services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
