Luella Poor
Luella Mae Poor, 89, 300 Bruns Ave., Celina, died at 1 a.m. April 24, 2003, at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1913, in Berne, Ind., to Frederick Cleveland and Nora L. Gilliland Siler. On June 23. 1934, she married Walter H. Poor who is now deceased.
Surviving are a son, Jay (Susan) of Botkins; a daughter, Patty (Ed) Krogman, Mendon; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Orval Siler, is deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Montezuma United Methodist Church.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. David Gordon officiating. Burial will be at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jay Poor
Mendon native Jay D. Poor, 67, of Botkins, died at 3:40 p.m. Dec. 3, 2003, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born May 7, 1936, in Mendon, to Walter and Luella Siler Poor. On Sept, 26, 1959, he married Susan L. McGrath who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stephen of Wapakoneta and Joseph (Alison) of Upper Arlington; two daughters, Jennifer and Maria, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Patty (Ed) Krogman, Mendon; and four grandchildren.
He retired in 1989 as an engineering supervisor with Ford Motor Co. in Lima after 33 years service. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Botkins, and attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Zapata, Texas. He had served in the Ohio National Guard.
Funeral Mass was 10:30 a.m. Dec. 8 at the Botkins church, the Rev. Patrick Sloneker officiated.
Long & Folk Chapel of Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, had charge of arrangements.
