Elizabeth known as " BELLE " was older than my grandfather because she graduated from a different grade school in Buffalo on June 24 1892.
She moved to New York City and married a Jewish man by the name of Edward GUMPLO and died in Rhode Island per information Pete Stewart found in the Rhode Island records on Nov 22nd. 1917.
She had a daughter named Grace that was adopted by a Jewish family in Conn. It is assumed she was born in Buffalo most likely at 184 Sixth Street the address on the 1880 census index (the census index confirms she was born in New York ). I also assume she named her daughter after her mother Grace C. Murray. Located her on the 1900 census living at 46 Greenwood Place with her grandmother Mary she is listed a s E. Belle single and age 21 a clerk. Living at 422 Dearborn St. with her brother George per the 1910 census film 946 pt. 2 pg. 80b line 84 listed as age 31 father from Scotland mother from Canada a she was a purchasing agent in a dry goods store.
