Notes for Winfield Scott Bickford
Winfield Scott BICKFORD, Private, Son of Isaac and Mehetabel (Henderson) Bickford, was born in Sanbornton, N.H., Oct. 4, 1841. Had lived in Rochester about five years. Was at work in the woolen mill, though by trade a joiner. Mustered in Nov 28, 1861. Exposure to a hard storm on the way to North Carolina brought on a brain fever so that he was left behind at Hateras, N.C., where he died March 12, 1862, and was buried there.
