Desperately Seeking Ellen:
I am trying to find information regarding my gg grandmother Ellen Cornelia
AVERY. We believe she was born about 1841 but have not been able to
locate a record. She married Robert Leggat we believe in Michigan but do
not have a date. Ellen died in 1869, probably in childbirth. Robert had
moved to Butte, Montana in 1867 we are not sure if Ellen was with him at
the time of her death.

We do have a copy of a death notice for her borther James C AVERY. He was
born in Sherburne New York 1/Dec/1842. The article states that the family
moved to Grand Haven Michigan about 1846. His father (no name given) was
a "builder & cabinet maker in Grand haven and was a noted member of the
community".

So far everything we have tried has been a dead end. If this rings a bell
for anyone I would appreciate hearing from you.
