S.P. May p.201 Paul Sears was a blacksmith by trade. Soon after his marriage he removed to Woodstock, VT,locating first in the south part of town, but moved presently to the neighborhood of "the Flats," and set up a blacksmith shop at the foot of the hill where the brook crosses the road, on land purchased of Jesse Williams; he removed to Montpelier in 1800, returning in 1812-13, and remained on his farm till 1827, (1831) when he sold out and removed to Stow, VT, and died there at the house of his son Harper D Sears.
