Eden's first supervisor was John C. Twining, who took office in 1813. Through the years a number of Eden representatives on the Erie County Board of Supervisors established long records of distinguished service, including Nelson Welch who served 11 years at various intervals between the years 1850 and 1872; Charles H. Ide who served 12 years from 1896 to 1907; as well as 1916 and
1917; Henry Bley 1918-1927; Luther and Ida Landon who, served from 1928 to 1937 and from 1938 to 1947 respectively; and Frank Swartz 1948-1957. Two Eden Supervisors held the office of Chairman of the Board: Nelson Welch In 1867 and Charles H. Ide in 1900 and 1901.
