Notes for George Bunker Sr.
Subject:
George Bunker
To: walker
I contacted you this last January about your entry for
George-1 Bunker and sent you the info I had at the time
which gave his parents as either Francis Bunker/Tabitha
Davey or Timothy Bunker/Elizabeth Hawkins. Have new
data on this and thought I would let you know...it will
sure make it easier on your data base entries.
The Bunker Family Assn now has, as a matter of deduction, established
that the parents of George-1,
whom they refer to as George N-1 (for Nantucket, even
though he never lived on the island), were Timothy
and Elizabeth (Hawkins) Bunker.
At one time it was thought that the three Bunker cousins, all named
George, emigrated to the colonies.
One of these was the George how owned Bunker's Hill and
designated as George C-1 (for Charlestown). Another
was our George N-1. They have now found that the third
cousin never came to the colonies, that he remained in
England, and is now designated George T-1 for his
place of birth, Tingrith, Eng.
There was a Bunker Family reunion last year and
attending was a Brian Bunker of Hong Kong along with
his parents who still live in England. Brian has done
his line all the way back to the earliest Bunker/Buncker
ancestor...Roger and Agnes Buncker.
Brian's line is via the third cousin, George T-1, and
that George's parents were Francis and Tabitha (Davey)
Bunker. Which leaves only Timothy Bunker and Elizabeth
Hawkins as the parents of our George N-1.
Later I will send you the data Brian filed with the
BFA on his line. This has the children for each gener-
ation listed and you might like that for your files.
